Toyota RAV4: Call for safety belts - affected vehicles in Germany

Toyota has to cope with a massive recall once again, are nearly 3 million vehicles affected worldwide. Triggers are potential problems with the rear seat in soft SUV RAV4. The German car owners are also concerned.

The reason for the current recall Toyota Germany states that “in the course of an exceptionally strong frontal impact, the webbing can come [to the seat belts of rear seats] in contact with a metal edge of the seat frame.” This can lead to loosen the belts in an accident. In North America, this should be already happened twice. Whether a death can be attributed in any of the accidents on this issue, has not yet been final.
