Capcom is working with Marza Animation Planet with a new animated movie about Resident Evil. The movie should appear in 2017.
The animation must completely stand alone and does not depend on the storylines of the games or the previously unreleased animated films.
Takashi Shimizu, the creator and director of Ju-on (The film series in the West is known as The Grudge), will serve as executive producer active in the final film. Takanori Tsujimoto directs, and Makoto Fukami provides the script.
There is also little known about the animation. It is clear that Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield and Rebecca Chambers are to be understood.
