LOS ANGELES - The legendary American soul singer Bobby Womack died
Friday at the age of 70 years, said the magazine Rolling Stone , quoting a representative of his record label XL Recordings .
The cause of death was not immediately known, according to the same source.
Womack, who wrote many songs such as R & B It's all Over Now , began singing with his brothers in the 1950s and later in the group The Valentinos.
He also wrote songs and played guitar for such famous that Aretha Franklin and Wilson Pickett artists, the magazine Variety.
