Maria Sharapova at the Australian Open Monday refused to cooperate with the birthday of Petra Martic. The second-seeded Russian defeated the Croatian on her 24th birthday in the first round 6-4, 6-1.

In the second round Sharapova is up against her compatriot Alexandra Panova, who won the Romanian Sorana Cirstea.
